Joan Rooney is a leadership development trainer and certified coach with 18 years of experience. She serves Federal government and private clients, specializing in the foreign affairs community. She firmly believes in the power of coaching to assist leaders in making subtle changes that can leverage big differences in productivity and employee engagement. Joan’s coaching style is powerful and effective, using cutting-edge leadership and management concepts. With advanced training in trauma and resilience, her coaching includes a mindfulness and somatic perspective. Joan mentors new coaches seeking skills development and certification. She created a successful virtual group coaching circle for women leaders during the pandemic.
Joan has a M.Ed. in Education from the University of Maryland with an emphasis in Instructional Design. She received her coaching certification from the Coaches Training Institute and her Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accreditation from the International Coaching Federation.
