Irene has a Masters degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and is certified with the International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach. She currently owns and operates Positive Advantage Coaching. She is also on the faculty of MentorCoach LLC, through which she periodically teaches their Foundations course and a Group Coaching Masterclass, among others.
She enjoys the sleuthing involved in working with clients to help them arrive at their desired future state. Irene considers coaching to be a gift that clients give themselves; that opportunity to focus energy, time and attention on those topics and opportunities that will help them reach their fullest, most rewarding expression of their lives. She is also qualified as a mentor coach.
For 18 years leading up to her retirement from this position, Irene was on faculty at Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology, teaching various psychology courses, her favourite being Positive Psychology. Her coaching practice is infused with many constructs and applications from this rich field.
Irene offers a variety of workshops on organizational development, leadership growth and several topics related to positive psychology, including Appreciative Inquiry, Working with Strengths, and Resilience Training.
She is the proud mother of two young adults, and happily married for over 30 years. As an avid healthy living enthusiast, she is equally as comfortable in a gym under a barbell as she is lacing up her shoes to go for a run. When conditions are right, she is sometimes accompanied for the latter by her beloved four-legged friend, Fozzie.
