The 10 hour Asynchronous Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) program meets the requirement for the education hours needed to apply to ICF whether you are applying through the Credit for Prior Learning or Standard Path for the MCS.
In this course, you will gain practical knowledge about mentoring utilizing the Mentor Coach Handbook and Mentor Coach Competencies. You will listen to coaching sessions and apply your mentoring skills throughout the course as you become familiar with the ICF Observation and Competency Review forms.
A Mentor reflection Journal (provided) allows you to capture your learnings and submit them for our review at the end of the program.
How It Works
- View 10 video modules (Modules build on each other, so doing them in order is best.)
- Fill out Mentor Coach Reflection Journal using prompts provided during course.
- Take a 5-question quiz at the end of each module.
- Once all modules are completed, submit the Mentor Coaching Reflection Journal for review.
- Within 7 business days, receive a Certificate of Completion and the syllabus for the course to submit for your ICF MCS application.

- A detailed review of the ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies
- Instruction and practice filling out the ICF Session Observation and Competency Review forms.
- Recordings of coaching sessions + transcripts (Session recordings are shared with permission for this course only — please don’t share them elsewhere.)
- Podcast recordings on how to listen for key ICF Core Competencies + transcripts
- Training on giving verbal feedback that is tailored to the mentee
